Did the officer restrict the stay for two weeks and said they have to leave in two weeks? Or did the u.s citizen say two weeks, was given the normal 6 months upon entry?
If it was the officer that restricted the stay for two weeks and only gave two weeks upon entry then the u.s citizen should leave to avoid problems in the future.
If the traveler just said two weeks, the officer gave the normal 6 months upon entry, then they can stay longer because sometimes plans change. If they were given six months upon entry then they should leave before the 6 months are up or apply to extend.[/QUOTE)
