What's the minimum length of stay for first arrival?

Hello everyone,

As I only intend to arrive in Canada for a short period of time first just to have the PR card activated, I wonder how long do I need to stay? Will one week be enough? Or a month, several months, etc.?

How long will the PR card arrive? Do I need to be in Canada when the PR card arrives (i.e. Do I need the PR card to leave Canada?)

You need your PR card to come back to Canada if travelled by air. If you don't have your card with you and you want to come back, you can either 1) apply for a PRTD from oversea, or, 2) travel with your landing paper/CoPR via land (US/the French island). You can also mail your PR card to your friend in Canada and have them mail it to you, I am not sure if it is legal though.
