I am looking at the website to check my application status. I see 2 sections. "Sponsorship Application" and "Permanent Residence Application.
What is the difference?

Another question on the side.....

I had an e-mail confirming that they had received my application. Should I worry that now I see "Decision has been made" but according the site, they said they are sending a letter. I mean, why not an e-mail like people I know? Even though also, I had spoken with a lady in CIC and she said the application looked great and was already sent abroad.

Sponsorship Application side is the part of the application that deals with the person who is bringing person to live with them

Permanent resident side is the part of the application that deals with the person who will be moving to Canada.

The e-mail you got was the Acknowlegement of receipt. That is different from the letter you will get in regards to the decision made status. That letter will more than likely be the sponsorship approval letter. If you didn't put down in your application that you want only the email address to be used for correspondence then they will mail out physical copies of letters.

I don't remember seeing an option to specify only e-mails to be sent to me. From what I understood from their footnote at the top of the section where it asks for my contact information is that I provide my mailing address if I am to be the rep. Also it had mentioned that if I provide an e-mail address, they would contact me through this e-mail. Which I did. Unless I am missing something else.
