hello, in 3rd person point of view, what's the best way to pronouns?

I have a list:

the Sponsor / the Applicant

the Sponsor / the Sponsored spouse

the Sponsor / the Applicant wife(or husband)

the Sponsor / the sponsored wife (or husband)

it's to me that it could be easier to read and distinguish if the wife or husband is pointed out clearly in the application forms and photo captains.

any ideas?

This is personal preference but I use the Sponsor and the Principal Applicant.

It is all about convenience, I would prefer the Sponsor / the Principal Applicant, which is official as well.
