I guess this is a bit of a rant, i'm very frustrated with IRCC at the moment.
I applied for a study permit early November, at that point the processing time for the UK was 7 weeks. I visited the VFS Global office in person and submitted biometrics at the same time as the paper application.
Fast forward .. 17 weeks and 4 days later .. application is still in "we are processing your background check", I suppose it's possible they could be doing an in-depth check in my case but then the processing time for the office is now at 23 weeks - this is how long it took for PAST applications to be completed. I wonder what's going on with this office when the office in India takes 4 weeks, office in China takes 8 weeks, office in Syria takes 7 weeks, etc..
The only response they ever give is "rest assured we are working on processing your application as quickly as possible", well going on to 18 weeks is not very quick. The college has already deferred me to May from January intake but now at this rate i'm going to miss the May intake, do IRCC expect me to just keep my life on hold and keep asking the college to defer me to later and later intakes?
