What's cover letter ? any format ?

I am preparing CEC, but the check list doesn't mention cover letter ?

cover letter should on top of check list or else ?

it is not employer letter right ?


8. Failing to provide a cover letter

Although never fatal to an application, failing to provide a cover letter may result in delays in processing.

A cover letter that sets out who is applying for what, and the main reasons why the applicant qualifies makes reviewing the application easier for the visa officer, which means faster processing in my experience.

I never submit an application without a detailed cover letter asserting the applicant’s right to immigrate under current law and policy.

A CEC application does not require an explanation letter or cover letter, unless there is a particular matter that you want to draw their attention to.

It is already quite clear what you're applying for, and how you are eligible for it, from the documents prescribed by the document checklist.

Some work permit applications (such as a BOWP application) do indeed benefit from an explanation letter, as it may not be clear from the prescribed documents exactly why you are eligible for one.
