hi my name is Lee Cooke I am a British citizen wanting to move to Canada with my wife and child ( all British citizens ) we will be flying out for 3 weeks in October to come visit friends and look for places to rent at first (simcoe) our friends have offered me a job in his car body shop, also my wife a job in a restaurant, my wife has good grades in school in Scotland but my grades aren't up to standards, but we been looking online everywhere about what visa we need as a family to move over, we've tried the express entry but don't qualify for it, will it be easier for me to get paper work sorted with my job offer while out in Octoberalso is there any other advice you guys could give us as we want to get things moving asap and we know how long visas can take? look forward to you're response

regards Lee Cooke .

If you are under 35 years old, you may apply for a IEC work permit but that stream is closed and will reopen in 2019. Another option is to have your friend apply for LMIA which I may say its quite difficult to obtain and very costly as well. Processing time for LMIA is 3 to 6 months and if somehow you got a approved LMIA then you can apply for a closed work permit.

In my opinion, this is a bad idea for you and your family to make a huge decision to move if there is no guarantee of a work permit yet and you should expect to wait for a couple of months before even allowed to work in Canada.
