Is this going to red flag me? I am a US citizen. I am not working because I am visitor status in Canada and it's true that I am trying to immigrate here to be with my common-law partner legally. He fully supports me, especially since I am not allowed to legally work in Canada yet.
The immigration officer who put the visitor record on my passport is the one who told me to change my visitor status. But isn't the 'strong ties' to Canada what is necessary for my PR common-law sponsorship kinda the opposite of visitor visa? I mainly need to extend it in order to wait for the inland PR common-law sponsorship to come down.
I don't want my extension to be rejected for seeming like wanting to overstay. So do I need to attach receipts of inland common-law sponsorship application to my extension request?
And what should I write my last 'current' occupation? Technically it was to take a 3 month certification course in Vancouver to teach ESL. Before that we were traveling abroad. And before that I was employed as a yoga instructor in the United States.
Or is there something better to write...like just last occupation (student, which didn't need a study permit as it was under 6 months and I am a US citizen) or my last employment which was 2 years ago (due to our travels).
