My husband and I applied inland back in September. The medical we did up-front has since expired (he did it several months before he arrived in Canada) and after receiving AIP we were asked to send in a new, up to date medical within 30 days.

We have to drive 3 hrs to the nearest major city tomorrow to do this medical (of course the one in my city is on vacation this month!), so I definitely don't want to forget anything.

What do we need to bring with us to the doctor? We have one appointment with the CIC-approved doctor first for about an hour and a half (including chest xray), then we need to drive to another lab to have the bloodwork done. The doctor we set an appointment with has e-medical set up.

Do we need to take new photos to bring with us? Should we print out the entire email we got from CIC and bring it along? What are they checking for, exactly?

Thanks!

What did the doctor tell you to bring? That's what you bring. If they didn't say to bring photos, don't bring photos. Photos are only necessary if the doctor is not part of the eMedical system (if they are, they'll take the photos there).

I only had to bring my passport and what I used to pay for the exam and tests with (blood, urine, chest xray, and the doctor's exam).

The receptionist wasn't too helpful honestly - she just said to make sure he brought his passport and that they were set up for eMedical. Then she mentioned bringing "official documents" and the form that was emailed to us for use with eMedical. I'm not sure what she means by "official documents". Maybe something with our UCI on it?

Also, did you need to fast before the urine/blood test? We weren't given any information about that, but were hoping to pick up breakfast on the way out of town.

My doctor's office specifically said not to fast. I wouldn't worry about picking up breakfast the morning of, just try to eat healthy.

Did the CIC send you a form to include with the medical or instructions to find a form? If not, print out that email and a copy of your UCI (there is a spot on the forms the doctor gives you to include your UCI). Show them the email and let them know you didn't receive any forms.
