WHAT TO DO NOW???
Hi,
Every body here is DINESH KUMAR CHOPRA from Jalandhar, Punjab.
I got my Study visa Refused which i had applied under SPP stream. I got my passport along with refusal letter on 18july 2012.
REASON were that
1) You have not satisfied me that you will leave Canada by the end of the stay in reacing this decision I considered sevral factors including : PURPOSE OF VISIT

2) OTHER REASONS- -NOT satisfied that you possess abilites to succeed in choosen program
Here are all the details,

I am very depressed as i thought i have no negativity in my file, but still i was shocked to see a refusal letter.
what should i do now.

I got accepted for Humber college, in GLOBAL BUISNESS MANAGMENT.

I have done B.com in April 2012 from GNDU[Guru Nanak Dev University] with 53%

I got 67% in 10th
and 70% in 10+2

I am having 7 Bands in IELTS.
With Listening - 9 Bands
Reading - 7 Bands
Writing - 6 Bands
Speaking -6 Bands

I had got 10 lakh loan

and shown Rs.220000 in saving account.

I paid fees before getting loan sanctioned and i didnt showed any source from where i paid the fees, which i actully paid out of my fathers O/D account. [Do it make any diffrence?]

Now friends i need your help to choose my further course of action. what should i do?

did you include SOP with your application? If not, you need to do so if you want to reapply provided that all your supporting documents are intact. Since they did not mention anything regarding insufficient funds and all that. try to explain in your SOP why you prefer to study in Canada to your home country. It's very important. this is my personal opinion- u can wait for senior members to comment on it. good luck

Well, yes i did attached a SOP, sorry failed to disclose it in details.
I included a SOP, i mentioned that there is much benefit of the choosen course in India and job opportunities here.

My SOP was 3 page in length, is it unfair to make such a lengthy SOP. [will Visa officer ignore or not read it to full]

With your kind of profile, they refused you a visa? I am absolutely SHOCKED!! this is just appalling!! Seriously, I cant imagine in my wildest of dreams that someone with your kind of simple and straightforward profile would get rejected! The only weakpoint that I can identify if I were to nitpick is probably your financials...but CHC has not refused you for that reason. Feel sorry for you my friend, you should definitely apply again!
I applied for my visa on 16th July under university category at CHC delhi, reading about cases likes yours just gives me shivers about mine!

1. Your percentage of 53% in the last degree is adversely affecting your case. The VO doesn't agree that with this much percentage in B.Com you will become a good student in Canada where the studies are expected to be difficult and that is why he objects your aim of studying in Canda he thinks that you are using educaiton / student visa to enter Canada and hence doubt the purpose of your visit..

2. SOP of 3 pages won't have helped your cause. SOP should not be longer than 1.5 pages (1000 words).

3. You have to work hard on your case and draft a precise and clear SOP stating and explaining your interest in this particular college, the degree and why you want this degree, what you expect from this degree, your motivation, why you didn't perform good previously. Try to highlight the best things, projects you did in your previous academic life but be non-technical. If you have an "A" grade in any subject try to link that subject with the degree you are intending to do in Canada.

Try to give him the impression that you have learnt from your mistakes and now you can change the world with this degree.

Also attach RECOMMENDATION LETTER FROM YOUR PREVIOUS PROFESSORS stating that you were a good student and you performed above average, your practical knowledge and true position is not reflected from your percentage.

writing 3 pages of SOP? what were you explaining? 1 page is pretty good to convince VO. you need to be concise and precise when writing SOP. I think that's the reason they refused you because your profile is good. try and look for sample of SOP and make your own with it. 1 page is enough. it should not be more than a page so that you will not write out of point. It's very important to write it nicely since it represents interview these days.

You need to ensure VO that you have all the required capabilities to complete your course. Your lower percentage in B.com (53%) is making a bad impression. Explain the reason for this lower percentage and also elaborate that other than B.com you have good academic record (67% in 10th & 70% in 10+2). Tell him that B.com was an exception and now you are a different person with much more determination and will power to complete your study. Tell him about your future plans and how important is this course for your career.

If you have good home ties like property assets, family, job offer etc. , show them in your application to tell the VO that you would return to your country after completing your study because of these ties.

Thanks for all these suggestions. One thing i want to ask all you senior members that should i change my Study program as some consultants suggested me not to change the course because it may make an negative effect as VO will think if i have not given him visa in that course, now he has come up with new course he might think i am not serious about my studies. Please Please everybody do comment on this issue.

Hi,
Don't worry about refusal reason. We have member in the forum named NICKMALIk who had a similar profile as you have.same percentage.
And you know what he got visa in 3 rd attempt for the same course which you opted.
First time his refusal reason was study mismatch. what a bull shit reasin it was he was BCOm student though.

So buddy don't loose hope and apply again.

If you want to see his profile then go to search box type nick malik and you will find his profile.
