Hi guys,

My work permit is about to expire (until October 5). My employer wants to apply the LMIA for me, but he just started on the recruitment process. What is the starting date I should write in the expected employment blank?

1. Is it October 6? (ps. I will be under implied status in my situation.)

2. What are the good strategies to get a positive LMIA?

I'll help with the second question.

Make sure you are being paid at least the median wage for your occupation in your region. Make sure your employer reads and understand the LMIA minimum advertising requirements. He needs to meet these requirements fully or the LMIA will be refused.
