Most insurance companies will do that, as person is not physically here in Canada around stating date of coverage, but on safe side, you should check when you buy the policy. Its stated usually in policy or websites of insurance companies.

If the super visa is refused, you never actually use any insurance anotherwords the policy never took effect. You get a full refund, I hope this is not your biggest worry, the people I deal with want to get the super visa and see thier parents and grandparents. I really hope nobody gets a refund which means their visa is granted and they can see thier familiy in Canada.

My wife and I (49 years old) got a medical insurance ($150,000 coverage for one year). We paid for it around $1,200(each).

The insurance company will return the money if ours visas get refused.

I know we have to purchase at least one year insurance for my parents. Then if they plan to stay only three weeks. Is it possible I get the refund for the rest money whatever I paid off? Thanks.
