Hello

I have studied in Canada for almost 2 yrs and have worked in Canada for almost 4 1/2 yrs.... on PG and regular (LMO) work permit (now working as a foreign worker) I have recently applied for FSW3 and have gotten both my AORs from Nova Scotia and Buffalo... however my workpermit will be expiring Jan 10, 2011 and I don't know how long Buffalo will take to process my application so I don't know if I should extend my LMO to renew my work permit or if I can just change my status to visitor status while I wait for Buffalo to reply? Or can if I get another job will that affect my application in Buffalo... I really cannot work in my current job anymore, my employers are just draining everything out of me...!! :(

so confusing...!!

You can quit you job and remain in Canada until the expiration of your work permit; you can change your status to visitor before then and gain some time. Of course you cannot work then.

You can change jobs - of course need a new work permit for that. (BTW - You cannot extend LMOs anymore, you have to apply for a new one.).

None of this should affect an FSW3 application unless you do something without required authorization. If you do not remain in Canada and your application is being processed in Buffalo, that could create some logistical challenges...

And be sure to keep the visa office informed of any changes in your employment status, residence, etc...

Thanks Jes

I had read someone elses post saying that if you change jobs it will affect ur FSW3 application because your supposed to be in that job for a year... however I have been in 2 different jobs for 2 yrs each... and I have studied as an international student for 2 yrs...

So all I have to do is send them the change in employment or current status and they shouldn't have any problems with my application... hopefully it will not delay anything...

Thank you again for the insight..
