Oh well...that is too bad...nobody can shed light on my question? How about, what sponsorship applications are more likely to get approved, Inland or Outland?

Forum: Am I worrying too much? Is it a 100% given that I will be able to sponsor my husband and he can land in Canada, since we have a child, my parents will support us when we first arrive, I am University educated, he is healthy with no criminal background etc. What potential roadblocks might I face? I want to be prepared.
Thanks

I wonder too if there is data about that in particular per embassy. Truely I think it all depends on what embassy you are dealing with, what immigration officer you get, how bitter or jaded they are and in my experience their prejudice and ignorance of life outside of their "embassy sheltered world" plays a huge impact.

I have noticed that there is a world of difference say re an embassy in Rome vs an embassy in Rabat. The latter which I am dealing with and enjoying the fruits of their ignorance.

Ok I guess I may be the bitter and jaded one but 2 years or marriage and we're still living miles apart. Now if only my vote next week would help reform this broken immigration system we have. I can only dream.

The world of difference is that the embassies might as well be IN different worlds.

Maybe the question should be asked differently?

What percentage of applications are fraudulent, incomplete, have paperwork that is suspect, or in the end are just bad? What percentage of applications are bad per embassy?

Hum interesting point, but how about the cases where the immigration officer has made a mistake? the application wasn't missing anything, had no errors or omissions but the IO screwed up?

That's my situation and that's the black hole lots of people fall in and have no recourse but wait out the appeal process.

Yes that is an unfortunate possibility and of course and I do not wish anyone to have to suffer through an actual mistake.

But as you can see the issue is a complicated one with many viewpoints. So even though I am in the middle of the process myself now bringing my wife over, I also do not want Canada to just "open the floodgates" so to speak.

frolic,

Oh agreed indeed, what my lawyer said to me rings so true, he said the policies and procedures are in place to help keep the unwanted out but unfortunately it's the innocent that get caught in it.

My question to him was, how does someone get into my country 8 times and have to be deported 8 times at my expense?

Are their quotas for each embassy for how many people can get TRV's per year? For example Japan 10,000 TRV's vs. Thailand 5000 TRV's and as soon as the quotas are filled then too bad....

They do actually have some goals for immigration numbers but they don't go by it exactly. I have never heard that applied to a visitor visa or for any country specifically. It's more like in a certain year, they estimate to take in 10,000 refugees and 50,000 for some other class and 80,000 for some other class but at the end of the year, it might easily be more or less by a couple of thousand in each category.
