Respected Sir/Madam,

I am planning to apply for PR. Currently I am working as Jr. Cloud Consultant( I am not the software developer). I am confused between NOC code 2147/2173 & 2171, or other than these. If you can guide me which is best to choose, then I would be grateful. My main duties are as below:

• Managing and maintaining servers on cloud environments such as AWS, openstack and Citrix.
• Monitoring the url uptime, cpu & memory utilization and assuring the url is up and running fine 24*7
• Working with deployments using tools such as jenkins
• Handling maintenance activities such as patches update/upgrade, snapshot validation, cleanup activities for each and every client
• Working on documentation part as and when required.
• Troubleshooting client's issues related to backend servers on cloud environments.

Waiting for your affirmative and quick response.

Thanking you in advance.

2281 – Computer network technicians
Computer network technicians establish, operate, maintain and co-ordinate the use of local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs), mainframe networks, hardware, software and related computer equipment. They set up and maintain Internet and intranet Web sites and Web-server hardware and software, and monitor and optimize network connectivity and performance. They are employed in information technology units throughout the private and public sectors. Supervisors of computer network technicians are included in this unit group.

Thank you for replying, but I do not work or set up LAN & WAN, or hardware equipment. I think would relate to the technician who are working on hardware and network setups. I work on virtual servers(Cloud based). I maintain them by maintenance activities. Also help the developers for their deployments and once site is up I maintain those sites' availability. So basically I am kind of AWS solution Architect on a associate level (in my current company I do not design architecture yet)

From your description of duties I don't think you qualify as an engineer under the 217 NOCs. I might be wrong. How about this one?
2283 – Information systems testing technicians
Information systems testing technicians execute test plans to evaluate the performance of software applications and information and telecommunications systems. They are employed in information technology units throughout the private and public sectors.

I am again sorry, but this would go under QA or testing engineer. I will list out my job titles for you if that can help:

- Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
- AWS Solution Architect - associate level
- SysOps Engineer

The Lead Statement of the NOC for every sort of IT engineer contains these duties:
"research, plan, design, develop, modify, evaluate and integrate computer and telecommunications hardware and related equipment"
According to your job duties you don't design, develop, etc. In your own words you monitor, you troubleshoot, you 'handle maintenance activities" of various sorts.
Either you have not described your duties adequately or you have an inflated job title that doesn't reflect the requirements of the NOC.

Thank you,

Here is my duties and roles from current company if that can help:

Monitoring through zabbix for all servers and managing and configuring the alerts.
Troubleshooting and resolving client’s issues through zendesk ticketing.
Monthly and quarterly maintenance activities such as patches updates, aws inspector, security scans,
cleanups, deployments.
DR and deployment activities using Bamboo and git.
Resolving internal as well as client related issues through jira.
Maintaining wiki for deployment processes, incident reports, os updates and otheractivities.
Designed and worked on major tasks such as OS migration, automation of instance creation usingAWS
services like launch template, AWS lambda and cloudwatch.
Worked on automation part using bash script.
Monthly and quarterly reports for clients.
Troubleshooting clients’ vulnerabilities issues, production server related issues, and bugs

I don't know what half of those things mean Bamboo and git and bash scripts so I'll concentrate on the verbs.
Your duties read like NOC B technical duties.
You monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, resolve issues,
Engineers Design, develop, integrate, test and implement, they Develop and implement policies and procedures
You don't.
Look through the NOCs yourself and compare the common elements in NOC A 217 jobs and NOC B 22 jobs.

Sorry I've got nothing to add. I don't believe your job is NOC A, but I'm not trying to convince you to betray your own assessment. I've got no stake in the NOC you choose, after all.

Good luck.
