What NOC am i falling into??!! Please HELP

Hi everybody, I think you guys can help me with this. I am applying for PR and I'm very worried about my qualification.

Current my job title is: Credit administrative officer. I do not know what NOC that I am in?

In the letter that my employer wrote for me, my duties are: discharge typing, mortgage payouts, updating securities, reports, followup letters, statement preparation, faxes, web systems updates.

I am working for a financial institution. The description kinda matches with NOC 1221, but unfortunately they no longer accept application for that NOC. Another close option which I am thinking right now is Other financial officer, NOC 1114, but the description is not really close. Except for the fact that I have a finance background.

I just do not know where do I fall into for the NOC. Am I eligible at all to apply

If your other option you mentioned is not close with the description, and since your title says 'administrative officer', I guess you do actually most of the duties that 1221 - administrative officer NOC description mentions, so it will be really difficult for you to "massage" your title and duties, to try and match something you do not actually perform.

In that case, you are not eligible to apply, as your occupation was removed from the list of the eligible occupations under CEC

Thank you for your response Another one that is close is NOC 1434 which is skill type level C. Can I still apply??

I have been really depressed as I dont even know if I am eligible to apply for PR

Plus, I found another option for me as I could come into NOC 1212 and claim it as credit supervisor.

This situation is kinda messed up and I have no idea how I should code my job. And I dont want my application to get rejected, I have been living in Canada for like 6 years

Jobs under NOC type C are not eligible for CEC applications.

As for 1212, I have no idea, you are the only one who knows exactly what you do in your job (and your manager of course)...

Check the duties, make sure that you perform a substancial number of them before applying.

Your job seems to be ineligible for CEC, you have to start exploring other ideas (different immigration stream, new/skilled job etc)

You don't say what kind of work permit you have, or how long you have, but if you were able to get promoted to a supervisory position, then that work would be eligible. Alternatively, you could wait and see what happens in January with the express entry program, the exclusion of 1221 might be lifted (but I still think they'll evaluate you as 1434.). Or, look into your PNP program...

Thank you guys for your response. I think my only hope right now is asking my manager to write me another letter so it could fit into one of the option as noc1114 or 1212.

And my work permit is post graduate work permit. Its going to expire on july 30 2015. So i dont want to wait until the express entry to apply.

Any advise right now?
