The CELPIP official website says 2 years from the date the test is taken. So I guess CIC should take any test transcripts that is taken in the past 2 year of the date they receive the application package?

Thanks for help in advance! :)

If you have taken a language test as proof of proficiency for your PR application, keep the results with you. CIC accepts those for citizenship application even they have expired. My expired IELTS test results were accepted by CIC when I applied.

I am not sure about that. Given the unefficiency of CIC , I would take a new language test to avoid being rejected due to materials missing.

In the guide it makes reference to IELTS results since 2008. If you passed back then and now it's expired, it doesn't mean your English knowledge has expired. Better check with CIC directly...

Expired scores if they have been originally submitted as part of a PR application is accepted by CIC.
I used expired IELTS score and it wasn't an issue even when I took my citizenship test.

The following is from the CIC website with regards to language proficiency proof:

Thanks a lot:) didn't know that b4..

I did take IELTS test when I apply for PR,, but it was for CSQ as I went thru a Quebec Selection Program to obtain my PR,not a federal program....seems CIC requires that the test should have been done for a federal program..? But anyway a test is a test,no matter what was it taken for, right?......

In the next step CIC does ask us if we took Quebec Selection Program to obtain PR,but in this case, CIC only recognize French test results...IELTS is not included in this scenario:(

No, the descriptions on the website doesn't include my scenario of taking IELTS for Quebec Selection Program...

Quebec changed its immigration law in 2012which requires one to submit language certifications of English if he/she wants to get points for his/her English skills. The full score for this section is 6 points, while the other section for French is 16 points. when I apply, I tried to get as much points as possible so took IELTS test for it,which offered me 5 points to cross the benchmark. On the other hand, I didn't took French test at that time since my points sufficed to cross the benchmark, and also, I didn't know any French at all then... I have been learning French since then and can speak French now,but it is thru a free French course provided by my company, not a government one..

Guess I can't save time/money on language test for the citizenship application this time...:(
Will take CELPIP-LS as it is relatively the most cheap one...
