What about giving an address for the card to be sent to that was not yours? Would that come across as being suspicious ?
1) How would they know it wasn't your address, and 2) what do you think people do if they land as PRs not having lived in Canada before they land?
When you land, they will ask for your address, and the address you give them will be where they send the card. They asked us for proof of address, but we don't have driver's licenses, so they just took down what we said.
The only caveat here is that if you are landing with PR on account of a PNP, the address you give had best be in that province!
This is not a country where the government keeps tabs on where you live. As my European partner would put it, "There is no 'permanent address' here."
