I have met a girl who lives in india and I am a permanent resident of Canada with a British passport. We plan on getting married the question I have is

1. Will it be easier for me to go to India , get married and apply for her sponsorship back in Canada

Or

2. She is thinking of applying for a work permit for the Uk - so if I go to the Uk and get married to her there , will it be easier and faster for her application for sponsorship to Canada , to be processed ?

Which method would be less complicated and more efficient ?

Thanks

Same method/process wherever she is when you apply to sponsor her.

Note that as a PR you will need to be resident in Canada throughout the sponsorship process (short visits abroad are okay).

My understanding of apps for Indian citizens, is the visa office takes a close look at the wedding as a tool to judge legitimacy of your relationship. Indian weddings are typically quite elaborate and involve tons of family and friends, so it may be a big red flag if you got married in the UK, in a small more civic ceremony which may not be considered "normal". Of course with a long and well established relationship history this could be overcome i'm sure.

You might want to ask in the New Delhi thread to get some other people's experiences with weddings and if the visa office questioned them.
