Dear Friends ,

what is SIN no ? how we get it ? can we get SIN no in our 1st semester study ? do we need SIN for on-campus jobs as well ?

your information will be highly appreciable .

SIN is social insurance number. I think you will get it after you apply for OCWP which is six months after. On campus does not need it.

SIN Number is for all the sins you have committed. Lol. just kidding. SIN - Social Insurance Number. For the first six months of your study, You can work only on campus for which you do not need SIN number. Post 6 months and till the end of your study, you are eligible to work 20 hours a week. However to work for 20 hours a week, you need to apply for work permit which will cost you 150CAD dollars and process takes around 15 days to 30days then you can work out of your campus where you find a part time job. After completing of your study, you have 90 days time to apply for PGWP.

nops its not... you got to have full time job... now PR depends on province PR programs, for example in quebec you don't even need a job, you complete your program and you can apply for PR.... hence it's about provincial programs

i will be 19 this september and thats when i will be entering canada.. iam an indian so thats why i was wondering wether i can use my indian passport as an id there?
