Hello,

I am waiting for the result of Accelerated Tech Pathway of AAIP nomination, but it takes too much time, and I am afraid that my work permit would expire before getting nomination. Then I found the explanation of 204(c) letter in the website of AAIP. AAIP explains about the 204(c) letter like the following.

If you are nominated under the Accelerated Tech Pathway and did not have a valid work permit at the time of nomination, make sure there is a 204(c) Letter of Support in your nomination package. You will use this letter to apply to IRCC for a work permit after you apply for permanent residence. If you had a valid work permit at the time of nomination, you will not receive a 204(c) Letter of Support in your nomination package. You will need to apply and pay for a 204(c) Letter of Support if you need one.

The above says that we can use the 204(c) letter for a work permit even after our work permit expires. Is it correct? But If the work permit expires, I need to quit my job, right? Even if I obtain a nomination and apply for a work permit afterward after quitting my job, the nomination is based on the job offer at the time of application. Therefore, if my work permit expires and I quit my job, the nomination becomes invalid, right? So, I don't understand at all what the 204(c) letter is used for.

Can someone please explain its specific purpose and scenarios in which it is used?

Thank you,
Rian
