Hi everyone,
I am trying to fill out the Child Tax benefit application- the Rc66 form. My understanding is because my husband is non-resident in Canada and has not filed a tax return (only I did), I have to also fill out form CTB9.
Now I am little confused by part A "non-resident of Canada for the whole year". Because the heading says "Do not include income that was reported on a Canadian tax return" Then there is a question in this part: "If your spouse or common-law partner was a non-resident of Canada for the whole tax year, enter his or her income for the whole tax year".
We declared his income abroad on my tax return which I filed earlier last year. The question is, what should I write in answer to "enter his or her income for the whole tax year". Should I enter his income (declared in the Tax return) or write zero because the form says not to include what was reported on the tax return?
Please advise.
Many many thanks
