MP = Member of Parliament

Some members go to them for assistance.

Role of both are almost similar but there are differences.
In brief :
MP is representing more people and area.
MLA is Member of Legislative Assembly - for State legislation ( or Province ) but MP is for Parliament ( Federal ) .
