What does "medicals furthered" mean?

Hello!

I received our GCMS notes today, and it says "meds still furthered. Queued for ffup with Med Section" under the notes section.

Does anyone know what that means? Would the embassy have extended them? Or will they request a re-med at some point?

That notation was made in March. As far as we know, the medical exam results are the only thing CEM is still waiting for. They "lost" the medical exam results sometime between March and December 2012. The medical expired in February 2013.

Medicals Furthered usually means more tests are required. More often than not, it is a result of some abnormally noticed in the x-ray. To rule out that it is not TB, CIC asks the applicant to undergo Sputum tests. However, this is not the only case why additional tests are requested.

Check the OUTGOING section of your GCMS notes and see if they have "sent" any letter regarding this.
