Hello - from this forum I see that the eCAS gets updated to say things like 'medicals received', etc. But what does this mean exactly? We've sent our application to Mississauga about 5 weeks ago (bleurgh, still no idea if it's processed I might add), husband did his medical exam about 8 weeks ago - so where has his medical been this whole time / where is it now? Am I making sense? I just always thought the doctor sent the results straight to the Visa office as soon as they were in, non....?

No the DMP sends the results to the Regional Medical Centre responsible for the office which will be processing the application. For example if your spouse was applying through Berlin, the results would go to Paris.

a friend of mine makes application thru office that is in Ankara, Turkey, but all his family medicals were sent to London by DMP.
Why?

no, I don't think so - the processing Visa Office for his country is Ankara, Turkey and all the paperwork after the sponsorship approval goes right to Ankara, Turkey.
he was very surprised when his DMP told him that his medicals must be sent to London and he still has the DHL receipt and tracking number of his medicals sent to London.

Suin there are only 10 RMCs where medicals are sent, here is the list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/appendix-01.asp

thank you for your reply and the link PPM,
it looks like Turkey deals with London in this case.
Thank you for clarification.

Okay, so just to be clear, there is nothing else that we need to do, correct? It's in the hands of the regional medical centre and then when they are asked to send them to the visa office, they deal with it?

If you sent the form you got when completing the medical with your application, then correct, there's nothing you need to right now :)

Sometimes the medical results get "lost" - like the DMP sends it to an office that isn't responsible for your region. I've seen at least one person had to contact their DMP and ask where they sent the results. But that's really rare, so for now, it's safe to assume everything will be fine without you having to deal with it.
