what does ECA line added mean ?

Can someone please let me know what it means when people say "
ECAS access, 2 lines, status "In progress"" or to that effect .

That is a post ITA terminology referring to ECAS (e - Client Application System). This is a system used by applicants to track the progress of their applications.

Client Application Status. You can use it to check the status of your application. When a change to your application is made you may get an additional line added to your ECAS

If you mean in the context of MyCIC status of background check, no one really knows. CIC has been consistently arbitrary on status updates, be it MyCIC or ECAS. :

ECAS doesn't have such a status. And my MyCIC hasn't yet been updated to BG check In progress.
