What does 2 smester in a year means

Hello guyz i want some information regarding semester system in canada. I have been told by my college that i have to take two smester per year and each smester is of 4 months , so that means i have to study 8 months in a years what about other 4 months . . . . Remaining 4 months are in a row or like 2 months difference in two smester . . . Am really confused ???

They are in a row. Depending on the school, you could take the 2 semesters in a row, you could take 1 semester, take the 4 months break and then next semester or you could take 3 semesters in a row, if the school has continuous semesters.
