what documents are required for study permit for International student

Hello,
I will apply for the study permit, I am from Pakistan but currently on visit visa in Canada. Can I apply for the study permit from within Canada? I have gotten admission letter from Canada University.
Secondly, which documents are required for the study permit?
Do I need police certificate?

Usually is expected to apply for study permits from outside Canada as you need to show firm intent to return to your home country at the end of your course.
