Hi all,

My aunt & uncle (Candian residents and they're a family of 5 including my cousins) are willing to support me with the accommodations for my whole stay in Canada while studying. What specific documents do I need to get from them for the study permit application?

I've already googled my day away and since I'be got a v niche situation, and I can't find any other answer for it apart from the usual Affidavit of Support and Bank Statements.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Highlighting family ties in Canada without any rebuttal will weaken your S1 application, you have been forewarned.

This has a few pointers and formats.

Ties on OP's name, offsetting Canada. Said it already yet creates another thread.
I was thinking of hiding but that would be way too risky as I may be granted a visa in my country but once I'm at the point of entry, Immigration officer might find it weird that I didn't disclose my family ties in my SOP and deny me of entry. That's a pretty important detail to miss out on, especially that they're already residents there (and my cousins citizens). If The immigration officer asks me where I'll stay I can'f just pull out a random place out of nowhere and show receipts.

i have strong-ish ties. I've got a brother in univrersity who I'd like to help financially since he's taking medicine, I've got a property in my name and will tell about all my career plans in my home country.

I never said to hide anything not mentioning explicitly on the SOP is not misinterpretation, for my case I meet the SDS requirements so I am not answerable to anyone let it the the officer or the honourable minister regarding my funds.

Okay so let's say I don't include them in my SOP, would it be fine to at least include them in the Proof of Finance/Funds? It's not a letter or anything just a few documents acting as files for appendix just to prove that I have a roof over me during my stay there.

You must answer everything truthfully and honestly in your application inclusive of POF and not highlighting about your family ties on your SOP is a suggestion if you are not going to show any ties back home.

Sometimes they do check for funds for year two on the Port Of Entry but it's a rarity and it's up to you to have backup for funds.

I am going to show some ties here at home as I mentioned earlier in my previous replies to you, but I'll def do that. Noted. Include them in the POF, but not highlight in the SOP. Question though - how can I do that? I feel like any reasoning about mentioning them would be a highlight in itself?

hmm my program's actually just a year long that's why I have to be prepared for the question of funds upfront.

Just mention your ties back home and the usual things and how it offsets anything you have in Canada, if you are going to end up putting unnecessary information they will pin you down.
