what Document needed in Canada-US border

Dear all,
Could some one help me and give some information that what documents are needed for crossing the Canada border from US.
Actually my friend who is from Afghanistan has been in official training in US. his trainig will continue for two year. now he wants to meet her sister who is in Canada, toronto. So what documents are needed for him to cross the border and go to Canada. He has just Afghan Passport. Is there any easy and legal way to meet her sister. he would be in Canada maximum for one week.

Your friend would need to apply for the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). There are some other requirements as well.
