What do I need to visit Canada for 1 month?

I'm 18 and I want to visit my girlfriend in Ottawa for a month, I live in Texas. I don't have a job or high school degree yet and I'm wondering what I need to do exactly or what to expect for my visit? I'm going alone and will be staying at her house for the whole stay.

You'll need a valid passport. A return airline ticket. Sufficient funds to pay for your stay. And ideally you should bring proof to show you have ties to the US (e.g. property ownership, property lease, proof of employment, proof of school enrollment, etc.). You won't necessarily be asked to show the proof of ties. However it can be very good to have this information with you in the even the immigration officer is concerned you don't have strong ties to the US and may have plans to remain in CAnada long term.
