Hi friends,

I'm an Egyptian and I've been working as an Electrical Engineer (Electrical Maintenance and Automation Engineer in Flat Steel Rolling industry ) here in Egypt for about 5 years.
I'm planning to immigrate to Canada and I need to prepare myself to get a good job in the Canadian market.

What courses should I study to find a job relative to my experience?

Hi
Here's a simple fact: enrolling in a course does not guarantee you will find a job. Before you enroll in any course do the following:

1. Update your resume to make it attractive. That means: re-writing it in a format that appeals to recruiters and presenting your experience in a way that leaves the recruiter with more answers than questions.
2. Begin to connect with individuals that are employed in Canada in your area of work. Learn from them about the job market and how best to navigate it. Some of them may even be willing to look at your resume and advise on how to improve it in terms of content and presentation. Now, if you already know people in the country, they can be helpful in identifying and introducing you to people in your space. In the event that you do not know anyone in the country, social media will be your only option, preferably before you even land.
3. When you finally arrive in Canada, be sure to visit a settlement service organization - they help with resume writing, job searching, interview prep etc.

If you play (2) well, it could open enough doors for you to land a job when you finally arrive, or even a few weeks before.

All the best.
