I applied for Canada PR. After review of my appilcation, I received a letter from the Immmigration officials, that I am required to "have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations, an amount equal to $12,300 CAD"
They said the problem was, "I am unable to verify the liquidity and transferability of these funds, your debit/credit patterns, nor am I able to confirm if these funds are unencumbered by debts or other obligations."
Now, part of the problem is, that I rarely use my bank account. Money just sits there. I get paper paychecks, no direct deposit; I also don't withdraw money from my bank; I just cash in paychecks, use the money as cash, use a credit card where cash is not accepted, and deposit (manually) any money when I feel like I'm carrying around too much cash.
The other part of the problem is, that I've only had the required balance in the bank account for 4 months right now. They want a history of 6 months.
I have the following questions:
* I already submitted my credit card statements, and my paystubs; what else can I do for them to verify my debit/credit patterns? My tax return?
* I already submitted my bank statements; they are from a Canadian financial institution. What else can I do for them to verify the liquidity and transferability of these funds? My financial institution said they "do not know what else would satisfy them". They suggested to "reach out and ask them specifically what would they require to prove this?"-- however, the turnaround time for their webform contact is longer than they gave me to submit this information, i.e. until Thursday.
* I am planning to submit my U.S. credit report, to verify that these funds are unencumbered by debts or other obligations. Should I request a Canadian credit report as well?
