What can you use for Proof of stay at least 14 days beside a return flight ticket (immediate family visit)

Hi guys,

Hope you can help me here. My mom will be coming here to help me before and after my pregnancy. She doesn't have the return flight ticket to prove that she will stay at least 14 days as we are planning for her to stay as long as she can. I already prepare a letter explaining my due date is in Sep with the doctor's confirmation letter of my due date to show the Border Officer that she will stay longer than 14 days. Is that enough to guarantee her entry? is there anything else I can submit to make sure they will let her in the country?

If she has a TRV, then she will need to have a return flight (otherwise she will likely have issues boarding her flight). Open ended visits with no return flight are only OK for super visa holders.

So I would start by booking a return flight. If you're not sure of the date, then buy a flexible ticket.

She should ideally be able to show that she has funds available to support her visit when she arrives (e.g. bank statement).

Otherwise she shouldn't need anything else other than anything she obviously needs as a result of the pandemic (e.g. proof of quarantine arrangements, etc.).

Would add that you can’t quarantine with a pregnant women or newborn because they are considered more vulnerable so you’ll need separate location like a basement or Airbnb.

She also needs to reserve her hotel quarantine before coming to Canada.
