What are the visa requirements to work as an ESL teacher for a Chinese company, while I live in Canada? Do I need any work visa or can I work as a tourist/student?
The only thing I know is that I should file the taxes as self-employed.
Others can comment as well but If you are not a PR or a citizen you need a work permit / authorisation to work in Canada.
It doesn’t matter whether is a Chinese company or not if you plan to provide ESL teaching to students in Canada so is not like being a temporary resident and working online remote for a Chinese company which has no Canadian clients. Also teachers , even ESL believe may although not sure need to be licensed or hold a certification to teach in Canada depending on province.
