What Are Some Good Backup Plans For Getting PR Through Work Experience?

I have a PGWP but I have still not found a job that is under NOC 0, A or B. Ideally I was hoping to get into software/web development since I completed a diploma in that field.

However I am competing against people with bachelors in comp sci, masters, and several years of work experience and I am simply not even able to get my foot in the door. Nobody is even willing to interview me.

So since my time is running out, I feel like I should have some kind of a backup plan to get eligible work experience. So that I can at least apply for PR. Perhaps a line of work that is easier to get into. Like long distance trucking or carpentry? I don't know......... I heard even for trucking, there's plenty of training required and a job isn't always guaranteed.

I'm wondering if anyone here is in a similar situation and what they did to get the work experience. Any advice?

I can't comment on long distance truck drivers. However I would not say that carpentry is easy to get into and translate into PR. Yes, there are jobs - lots of them. But you generally need to have a trade certification which requires quite a high level of skill and also completing an apprenticeship (which generally aren't open to non-PRs / non-citizens). If you already have a few years of work experience in carpentry, then this path may be feasible. Otherwise this is a skilled trade that takes time to built and IMO it's not an easy or certain back up plan.
