Hello everyone.

This is my first thread here. I will really appreciate help from seniors and those who experienced similar situation before.

We (husband and wife) are Canadian PR, Landed in July 2012 and came back to home country within a few weeks. We have got our PR Card delivered to a friend's address living in Canada. We are now willing to go back to Canada and this time it is for permanent residence.

We have a 2 month old child for whom we want to get PR under "family sponsorship" program. I am not from "Visa Exempt" countries. I gone through several threads here and from what i know, i have only two options.

  • Try to get TRV, Which is most likely to get rejected. Then apply for TRP, which too may get rejected.
  • Either one of us should go back to Canada and sponsor child from there.

First option is more feasible for me.

So what shall i do first? Shall i go ahead and apply for TRV for my child and if they reject it, apply for TRP? or I should talk to Embassy first before i even apply for TRV?

Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

scylla, Despite the fact we know, it is likely to get rejected, shall i still go for TRV?

hi Awebus,

We did our landing this april and received Canadian PR cards. We had a baby this Oct in India and
both baby and herself are in India at present and I'm in US. We have to apply for TRV/TRP and gathered all required docs by looking at CIC and forums. Looking at various places in forums, I see you were able to get the TRV for your child. In this regard, I have few questions

1. Can I get the covering letter addressed by my wife or does it have to be from me?
2. As I do see that possibility of getting TRV is very high and it might have to be through TRP - so in this case if my cover letter states to consider it through TRP incase of TRV not being possible, do I have to submit any additional docs for TRP and a fee for it or I can proceed only after receiving a response from the officer?
3. Last but a needed one.. I'm also looking for a sample cover letter to present my case. Would it be possible for you to share the cover letter you presented so that would be helpful for me to make necessary changes and get the trv/trp processed?

IF the TRV is issued as in our case it was issued Multi Entry for three years Do we need to apply Inland application for our child or Outland ,If its inland where should we apply for it if its out land i still have the same question.
Is there any relation with TRP and TRV in case of inland and out land applications . Does it mean if TRP is issued for a child -It can be applied for Inland and If TRv is issued it can be applied as outland.
