WES (UPGRADE ECA REPORT)

Greetings Fellow members and Experts,

Please review and suggest:

I got my WES ECA report for my Bachelors degree, two years back.

Now I want to upgrade my previous ECA report with following :
1. Upgrade format of earlier Basic ECA report "WES document-by-document" to "WES Course-by-Course" format. (This way I will be able to use ECA report for both immigration as well as academic purpose)
2. Add new Degree (Masters) in "WES Course-by-Course" format.

The Cost/price for Upgradation = New Application (http://www.wes.org/ca/fees/schedule.asp)
Upgradation (Bachelor degree Course-by-Course format = $100 + Addition of Master degree = $100) = $200
New Application (Master Degree + Bachelor Degree, both in Course-by-Course Format) = $210


Query 1:
If I apply for ECA Upgradation, (Same Old Reference number): Do I need to re-send the bachelor transcript, which has already been evaluated by WES before (2 years old) ?


Query 2:
If I apply for New ECA application (New Reference number), I will be required to send both Universities transcripts (Bcom=Delhi, Master=Tamilnadu)
Can I collect both the Universities transcripts (in University sealed envelopes) myself and send it to WES by myself ? I mean, Can I put my address as the "Sender" of Courier to WES

>> No, you would just need to mention the old WES reference number. The data from your old file will automatically be transferred to new reference number.

>> If you have already done the evaluation of BCom, there is no need to send the transcripts again. Send it for your masters degree. You can mail the documents yourself, provided they are in University Sealed envelope.

However, I did not completely understood ur response to Query1

If I am applying with only masters transcript (without bachelors transcript) using Old reference number, then why would they issue a new reference number. Should not the reference number remain unchanged in case of degree upgradation.
Can you or someone else shed some light on this issue.

I have tried to summarise my Query in a more comprehensible manner. Please review & share your suggestions:

Query 0:
Can I use "Course-by-Course" ECA report for CIC/Immigration purpose ?
It seems that it is a elaborated version of "Doc-by-Doc" ECA report. Cos in the link below, its sample version is similar to CIC ECA report.

Query 1:
If I don’t order a WES "Course-by-Course" report format when I first apply for an evaluation,
Can I do it later while upgrading it with a new degree/credential ?
This query is a part of FAQ list on WES website, surprisingly with no answer at all. http://www.wes.org/ca/application/faq.asp


Query 2:
In order to incorporate both upgrades (Adding Degree & Change in ECA Type)
Which Option (1 to 6) should I select from the following : (Note- I am unable to select more than one option, website system doesnt allow)

1) Add new courses and my final degree
2) Add new courses but I have not received my final degree
3) Add another credential
4) Upgrade from a document by document to a course by course evaluation
5) Upgrade from an ECA report to a standard document by document evaluation
6) Upgrade from an ECA report to a standard course by course evaluation

If I select only one upgrade option (any option from 1-6) without ICAP, the exact total cost of service is CAD 209.05 (100 for upgrade + 85 for courier +13%TAX).
If I select New Application (Course-by-Course) without ICAP, its total cost is CAD 276.85 (160 + 85 +13%tax)
I am sceptical whether the Upgradation price of 209.05, include both upgrades (Adding Degree & Change in ECA Type) or not ?



I am desperately looking for members who have knowledge on any of the above queries, ....

I was exactly in the same situation but for my bachelors i did ICAP (Course by course) evaluation. So for my ECA now i added my newely completed masters by going to "ADD another credentials" and upgrade my whole application to ECA. It cost me cad$-209.05. I now have two reference numbers one for the previous one and one for the upgraded one. hope this help .

I did WES ICAP too a year ago. Can this be used as ECA?? I mean do I just order a copy? or do I have t apply for a ECA again? how do I do it?

You could order a duplicate report for cic, or if you need to add another degree just add another credential and upgrade the whole report to ECA. Hope this helps

So both the reference nos. are valid for your Bachelors you want to say (since earlier one was for Bachelors and new one is Bachelors+ Masters), or only the new reference no. is valid while the old one is no longer valid. Can you please clarify, since mine is a similar issue and I need to update the same in my PR application. Thanks.

Hi there I got my degrees B.Tech and M.Tech Assesed from WES in Feb 2016. Now my consultant says to get my Diploma assesed too. So i upgraded my order. I send my diploma transcripts(which is my upgraded order) with the reference number issued previously in Feb 2016. I am in great confusion. After making payment i was issued a new reference number. So my question is which reference number should have been used for the upgrade order, Old one or new one. (The new one does not appears in the order list in my account)

I need your advices. I don't have Express Entry profile yet. But I calculated my points for eligibility to create the EE profile,& I am not eligible because I only have 66 points (with good IELTS scores and a brother who is a PR in Canada). I missed 1 point to get 67 points requirement because I just turned out 42 this month :-((((. I am single.

My education is from the US. I have an Associate Degree in Arts from community college, then I transferred to university and earned a bachelor degree in Accounting. I am thinking to get another semester to earn another associate degree since I really desperate need to get 67 points. If I got another associate degree which is Associate Degree in Science, and WES evaluated my education as "two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years," I could get 67 points, and I will be eligible to create EE profile and to be in EE pool. I will have 145 course credits or more by combining 2 associate degrees and a bachelor degree.

Next year my point will be decrease again by one point because of the age. I am losing a hope to get those 67 points. I am thinking to register for one semester to get that extra point if another associate degree could get me eligible to be in EE pool. What other option I have? I need immediate advice from seniors in this forum.

Calculate your score here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Minimum required score is 67. If you are falling less, try to analyze where you can improve on.

If you do not know French at all and you are planning to learn it from scratch, then as far as I know, it will take more than a year of constant learning to achieve the desired score for the French Test.

Sadly if people still fall short of 67, there is no other option I am aware of to be eligible for the EE program.
