WES : Reference number and ECA Number different.Which one to Fill in EE Profile?

Hi Guys ,
I just noticed that the ECA number and the Reference number in WES are different.
so for Ex: my ECA # : 27****6IMM (this is printed on my certificate)
whereas
Reference number : 27****6 (this can be seen when i login to the WES website with my credentials)

I am slightly confused as to what exactly should we Fill in the EE profile. I will appreciate your response.

I'm new to the process. I get this WES Ref# only after I pay right?

Then i fill in the application form, and send it to my university. Who will then fill in the rest and send it to WES. Then they will send it back to me at my home address.

Is that all correct?

Yes that is right. When you pay, you get the reference no.. that reference no should be used when you send documents to WES so that they can map those documents to ur details... after evaluation they will send you the doc on the address you will provide

Are they similar? I mean if your reference number is 1234567 then your ECA number is 1234567IMM?? Or both are different?
