WES - Evaluation Certificate

I have received evaluation from WES: There are two sets of the evaluation document; they both look similar to me. Can I send either of them? Or is there one designated for FSWP? I don't see any difference in them.

Also, how many years of education does a master degree holder has? 18 years?

Send anyone of them, masters holder has 17 Years of full time education.

Secondary(10 Years)+(Intermediate or 12TH 2 Years)+(Bachelors Degree 3 Years)+(Masters Degree 2 Years)= 17 Years full time.

if an engineering grad, then 18 years......as B.Tech/B.E. is 4 years course and not a 3 years course.

Now I want to go for FSW in Financial Analyst category. I want to send my documents to WES for evaluation. My Graduations marksheets and certificates will be given from my university and my CA marksheets and certificates will be given by ICAI. both are seperate and differrent bodies. Therefore do i need to send two seperate application for these two degrees or I can send both degrees in a single application? Further, is it mandatory to send work experience details to WES for evaluation or do i need to send my qualification details only?

No! ...you don't need to send it separately, do it as a single application as WES will do a ECR for both with the same fee...

Only request your university and the professional body to send your mark-sheets directly to WES as this makes them start work immediately on your report once payment and all other docs have been received!

Only send a clear and legible photocopy of your certificate to WES as it would not be returned to you. And also, don't send the mark-sheets yourself to WES; they will have to write the institution with the copy of what you sent to confirm it's authenticity and this delays time as to when the report will be ready!

But thing is that my university and ICAI both the bodies will give me the sealed cover and they will not send it to WES. Therefore what I need to do is I will collect sealed cover containing documents from both the bodies and send to WES by myself. Is it fine or not?

Dear Bhavik,

There is absolutely no harm in collecting the sealed envelops and sending them to WES yourself. This is exactly what I have done in the past and it was fine. WES will never consider it as a malpractice (unless and until the envelope is safe, properly sealed).

No problem with that, you can go ahead with that as soon as possible and send them via a fast and reliable courier service...

I have had 2 experiences with WES where they have to confirm the authenticity of such transcripts/mark-sheets despite being sealed by the institution but being that it was sent by the applicant.

Time is of the essence so make haste!

Also, for your knowledge, it would be stated on your report whether your transcripts/mark-sheets were sent directly from your educational institutions/bodies or not....

You have to send one request letter to ICAI Exams alongwith your marksheets, certificates and proof of payment of membership fees and also with Demand draft. Do one thing visit ICAI.ORG and in search bar type transcript, they have given detailed procedure for the same.

My Visa agent is telling me that I need two different sets from university for Transcripts and one set for mark-sheets in different envelops. One set of transcript and one set of mark-sheets are for WES and remaining set of transcripts is for application of VISA.
I just want to confirm that is there any requirement of another set of mark sheets? or my agent is right?

Please guide me guys.

Dear Bhavik,

I will explain you my experience.

1] I downloaded the WES forms from their website

2] Filled in those with ball pen

3] Took the Xerox myself of my mark-sheets and the degree certificates

4] Attached these Xerox copies with the forms

5] Went to the Registrar along with the Originals of my mark-sheets and degree certificates

6] Took attestation (official stamp and his signature) and placed these documents, again myself, in an envelope and got it sealed.

7] Courier this envelop to the mailing address of WES.


Please Note: On the bottom side of the WES forms the Registrar/Controller of Examination must write his name, designation, phone number, e-mail ID, fax number and any other helpful details of him/her.

Also ensure that you have paid the proper fees to WES.

I can do that for my graduation mark sheets but for my CA marksheets I have to send these documents to Delhi office and they will send me sealed envelop. Problem is that I would never know that whether they have correctly stamped, signed and mentioned details on the form and other documents. I cant open that envelop too.

Further how many sets do i require to make for this envelop?

I had sent only one set as far as I remember, but still I will suggest you to cross-check from other forum members. Secondly, in case if it is possible, I will advice you to go yourself to Delhi and get the attestation in front of your eyes. This is what I did. It will cost you few thousand rupees and exertion, but after getting your envelop in your hands you will feel that your visit was successful. Moreover, these officials are utter casual in their approach, so getting the things yourself/in front of you/in your hands is going to be the best option for you. However, you establish contacts in Delhi office (which conferred on you CA) and tell them that you want to come yourself to their office. I mean, without intimation you should not go to Delhi for the attestation work.
