WES ECA - Double Major/Dual Bachelor's Degree - Speculative Question

Hi there, I have a question for how the ECA will appear once WES have reviewed my document (they are due to complete it within the month!, but I can't wait and would love to hear from anyone who has a similar experience or qualification for what they got)

I studied a Bachelor of Engineering degree, but I opted to study two specialisations: Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. I studied this in Australia. On my degree/testamur it looks like:

Bachelor of Engineering
Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering

The total course duration was 4 years for Civil Engineering and I studied for 1 extra year to complete the Chemical Engineering component after finishing my Civil Engineering subjects (Total of 5 years). Now, would this count as two or most post secondary qualifications, with atleast one being more than 3 years? Or would this just be a bachelors degree? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi, chaish. I wonder how your case went. Please reply! I'm experiencing the same thing now! :)

Why is it just one? You have one degree with more than three years (4 years), and another degree. Didn't you ask questions to WES?
It didn't seem worth the effort to debate with them over it. It's technically still a "Bachelor of Engineering" just with two majors/specialisations. After looking at some other posts in this and other forums on the same issue (others had it too), they had no luck trying get this point through WES and they couldn't get a favourable outcome. I've heard other organisations might assess it differently, but I wasn't sure if it was possible to submit a second ECA.

I ended up applying for IEC because I'm Australian and under 30 and I was successful in that.

I'm guessing you also got a "one post secondary qualification" result? What are your plans now?

Thanks so much for the details! Totally helped a lot.

I got "one Bachelor's degree" stating that it is a double major in the parentheses.

Other double majors seem to have got the same result, too, and I was like "Okay, so for double majors it's just one degree." But the thing is that I've recently seen someone who did the same "double major" program in the same country as mine and he/she got "two degrees" assessed! Now this is a special case I've never seen. I asked WES about this and I'm waiting for the reply.

Now while I'm waiting for WES's reply I'm also thinking of applying for other ECA(s) through other organizations because I've not yet submitted my application. (I've only created an EE profile.) I've heard through this forum that I could designate my choosing of ECA by putting the reference number of the report I'd like to use.

Hey Chaish, wanted to know if you had separate transcripts and degree certificates for your degrees. I'm in a similar situation.
4 Years BS Engineering Sciences (2016-2020) + 1 year Bs Electrical Engineering. (2020-2021)

If i apply for the WES ECA i won't be able to claim the two or more degree points and they would give me the equivalence of 1 bachelors degree?

also you mentioned other organizations that assess this situation differently, can you please share which ones?
