Hi there friends;

I have some questions :D

1- I had a contract with a US Company but i was working from home here in Canada. I traveled to the US twice for Business Meetings which is in total 1 month. Now if i don't count this 1 month than i am eligible to apply for the citizenship now if i count it than i have to apply on mid of July 2015. What do you guys suggest and when is the new law in effect?

2- If i apply is it preferable to send my and my wife in one application? or is it better separate? As mentioned in question 1 i still didn't complete the physical presence?

3- I couldn't find my daughter's birth certificate what can i do as it is one of the requirements for her application. She is under age 14

Thanks in advance

am a of Canada and I got a contract in Denver, USA.
I have a registered incorporation in Canada

1- Should I work with my Canadian Incorporation or with my name? Which is better in terms of taxes and visa?

2- Would the days to get the Canadian Citizenship would still count if I am working in the US with my Canadian incorporation?

3- What is the kind of visa that I need to apply to in both cases? And how long it is going to take

Thank you in advance
1. Time spent outside for work cannot be counted towards citizenship physical requirements days. You will be rejected.

2. Since your wife has completed the physical requirements of 1095 days. I suggest apply for her and your daughter.

This will make you not lose your PR even if u take a long term position in US or anywhere else. A spouse living with Canadian will not lose PR status and exempt from maintaining 2 years on 5

3. Apply for her birth certificate copy and there is a procedure for it.

As far as your tax and visa thing. I'm not sure but USCIS won't accept foreign incorporated company to work on 1099 . you will need work permit b1 h1 or l1
You can ask the same question in Murthy dot com. They will give you some good advise. Also if you have ties with US. You may get RQ. Please be careful on what you do.

1. No one knows when 4/6 1460 days physical presence will come into effect. Keep your documents ready and file it if you can. Send your wife and daughter as early as possible. You have a short window and check the docs so that they do not return it as incomplete.

3. Sorry to hear about your home. It is hard when your country is at war. Hope everything ends soon and in an amicable way.
There must be some document that shows her date of birth. PR card, landing doc. Passport (cancelled/expired). Get it attested with a notary. add a cover letter that you have lost it and cannot be replaced due to the situation in your home country.

No point in applying now if you don't meet the requirements.

I think what the agent was saying is that the original cutoff date was June 19 but they changed it. To what they changed it to is what everyone wants to know.
