Weird situation " independent status student Concordia university "

I applied for Meng at Concordia university and they said they can't accept me directly but as independent student status for which I have to enroll for three under graduate courses before getting into master degree and for that I need to have valid study permit.

now if I get study permit for any pg diploma in other college then please suggest how can I switch to university ? I have to take three courses in one term and they will be part time courses. if I withdraw my admission from college and get enrolled for part time Concordia courses then I'll be not fulfilling study permit condition to study full time and will be departed.

So, what should I do ? experienced members please give your suggestions please...

Hey!

I received admit for MEng Software Engineering yesterday and it says my admit is conditional upon successful completion of qualifying program covering 3 courses.

Is this your situation too?

Where does it say you would have "independent student status" in your offer letter.

My offer letter says "Academic Load: Full-Time"

I received a mail regarding acceptance as independent student status . didn't get offer letter yet .

I just received mail that I have been conditional accepted into Meng electrical and computer engg I.e qualifying program has been added to master program.

do you think there will be Any problem with visa as its conditional offer ?

Can you copy and paste here that section that says you'll be an independent status student?

I didn't get any such thing.

My offer letter says I'll be a full time student.

As for the conditional thing, having pre-requisites is pretty common whether you apply to any country. Even if you get into an MBA degree in Harvard, they'll have pre-requisites like financial accounting.

So I guess visa officer will evaluate your ability to succeed in the qualifying program based on past academic record. It is finally up t him/her

what's fee on offer letter ? additional fee for qualifying program ?

Well I think actual fee is calculated by totaling the no. of credits you register for a term and then multiplying by fee per credit for that term for your faculty.

For example, my 3 pre-reqs add up to 10.5 credits and per credit tuition fee is 646$ for ENCS department.

So approximately 7000 CAD only after including all the other fees as well

10.5 credits is basically a full semester courseload
