Weekend courses: Eligible for Study Permit?

Hi all,
My post graduate work permit is expiring in June and I am looking to go back to school to boost my credentials after working 3 years in customer service.

I am planning to apply for a program that will eventually lead into my applying for an MBA in Canada, but the program only teaches courses over the weekend. The length of the program itself is definitely longer than 6 months (three semesters) but I will only be taking 2 courses per semester. Is this eligible for a study permit that will allow me to stay in Canada? If yes, should I also mention that I am planning to apply for an MBA afterwards?

Hi,

Sorry to tell you that..if you have used your PGWP once in Canada, as an international student... it may be for 8 months or 3 years...then YOU CAN NEVER GET 2ND PGWP AGAIN. It's issued only once in a lifetime to an international student. So..even if you do MBA or PHd...or any hi-fi/ other course of any duration... you can never ever get another PGWP... but, yeah..you can of course migrate/ stay permanently/work under other categories such as skilled workers, if you qualify.

I think, most international students need to maintain the status of a full time student in a recognized Canadian educational institute..to be legally maintain their status as "Student". And, hence..I'm highly doubtful.. as to whether..for a part time course..you will get student visa or not.

Best of Luck.
