Webform from IRCC states that my email is not recognized as official correspondence

Hello everyone,

I am desperate for some help. I applied for visa for my parents. I created an account for my dad as the principal applicant and my mum was also included in that application. I used my email to create the application because I check mine more often. I didn’t use a form of representative as I would be able to check everything from my dad’s account.

when my dad gave his biometrics, They asked him for his email and he gave his.
Now their application is stuffed, nothing has been done after biometrics and when I contact IRCC in Rome (I thought this might be the office, considering other people from Greece too, have gotten their visitor visa from Rome) this is the response I get.

“Good day ,

Please be advised that based on the information provided in this application, this email address is not recognized as official correspondence. Consequently, due to privacy concerns and as an unknown third party, you are not authorized to make any requests or submit any information on behalf of the official parties to this application. No action has been taken regarding your request.
These guidelines have been established to secure the privacy of the Principal Applicant. Thank you for your understanding.

If you wish to be included in correspondence and receive a response regarding your status inquiry, a Use of Representative Form (IMM 5476) signed by the Principal Applicant and the appointed representative, must be submitted.”

I tried both emails same response. Any input would be extremely helpful.

So they misrepresented themselves and lied by saying they were the ones applying and not using a representative (you)? Should not have done that. Now their account is tied to your email, and they never signed off as their representative. Now IRCC knows that they are using a representative so fill out the form and see if it can be rectified with the correct emails. The bigger issue is they think, your father is the representative.

But we didn’t lie. I just helped them complete their application. We just used my email because my dad never checks his. Maybe they think this is mirepresentation.
All the web forms my dad sent, sent them using the email we used for the application, his name and everything.
I don’t understand how both emails won’t be the proper ones to receive an answer.
thank you so much for your reply.

You have one email. The email used in the application is the one for all correspondence, biometrics, medicals, etc. If there is more than one email allowed it can lead to more issues of fraud.

Since you applied on their behalf, your parents needed to sign the Use of Representative form as you provided guidance and used your email. Now your father has used his email, so IRCC doesn’t recognize his, only yours. Try again with your email and if rejected then your father must contact IRCC through webform explaining the situation and including the signed Use of Representative forms. You cannot do this on their behalf because they didn’t appoint you their representative.

Oh my God Thank you so much for your reply. What a terrible mistake. Now I understand what you mean. WE might have though that my dad is the principal applicant, but by using my email IRCC thinks that they have used a representative (me in this case) without completing the form.

The weird things is that the first webform he sent was from the email he used for the application. And we still got the same answer. Which makes sense, since they still think that I have applied for my parents without using the proper form. WHAT A MESS. I cant believe this. I am so scared now.

I am gonna have my dad send the webform with the imm5476 and myabe a letter of expanation, what the situatuon was. Hopefully we won;t have any issues :(

Your email is that of the principal applicant. IRCC believe that you are the PA, and since you filled out the forms for them, sent it on their behalf and used your email then you are PA. All you can do is raise the webform or withdraw TRV application. Then start again.
