Did they give you a reason to reject your visa? Such as insufficient funds?

Basically my tourist visa (to visit family, my age was 14) was refused 5 years ago. Now I am applying to another country for a visa which requires me to declare all rejected visas and reasons. I don't have any of the documents from that time which can tell me why my visa was rejected. I have emailed Canadian High Commission (they dont answer these queries by phone) but I guess by the time they reply, my deadline for applying for a visa will have passed.

So I want to know what is the most common reason for a visa to be rejected. Please quote from the official letter

Such as not satisfying the officer of your intent of trip etc etc

I would be very thankful for your replies :D

most cases the visa officer does not believe the applicant will leave the country on or before the expiry date

You can place on the details - If Canada: Canadian visa/consulate office and date when you applied for the visa. Sometimes you get a generic refusal letter with nothing ticked/marked.

I am sorry I can't as I don't have a copy of a rejection letter. But I applied for a TRV and got a rejection but the officer did not mark anything on the rejection letter he gave me, so I place the information that I have and I guess it worked because I got a TRV the next time around.
