In 2020 I applied to sponsor a Ukrainian woman. In 2022, she was pretty much called a scammer during her interview.
I was very upset and was thinking to abandon Canada to move to her country.
Lo and behold, Ukraine War breaks out and she gets one of those special visas to Canada, no questions asked.
I was ecstatic I couldn't count my lucky stars, although feeling guilty my happiness was going to be on account of war and someone else getting killed.
Ok so anyways long story short, she shows up at my doorstep in Canada, but this was not the woman that I expected, but a cold, heartless, controlling, self centered, emotionally abusive person who denied me any intimacy, closeness or any sign of even remotely love. There was not even a hug.
Thankfully she has a small business back home so she left after 3 months. I got a divorce in Ukraine so that if she even thinks about showing up on my doorstep ever again, I could call the police and have her removed for trespassing, as she is no longer my wife.
So thank you Canadian Immigration Interviewr for seeing right through this fraud, when my eyes were blind. Keep up the good work!

Let this be a warning to other sponsors (male or female). There are scammers and monsters out there. Protect yourself and your assets before bringing anybody to your house. I was scammed out of at least $8000 sent to Ukraine. Dont let this happen to you!
