I came to Canada as an International student in Sept 2017, I did not have any major study gaps I am still studying in the Same university.
My father due to some issues had to leave Bangladesh (Dec 2019) fearing his life and came to visit me in Canada and heard from his friends and applied for Refugee Protection. (had visitors visa and already had visited me in canada before). After covid delays and all our case got accepted. My father included his wife (my step mom) and my application as well at the time thinking it would be safer and better.
Fast forward we applied for our PR and our application was received in Dec 2021 and we are still in process,medical documents have been reviewed stage but for 5 months there is no update.
I am 24 and my fiancé is in my home country. I thought everything will be sorted by now but it has been 3 years and counting and I no longer want to be a part of my parents application anymore.
Since my education isn’t complete yet I wanna finish my degree here with my study permit. I am able to apply one if I withdraw my refugee claim and get my countries passport and go back and then can I get approved for or apply for study permit again?
what are my options regarding this. I want to be able to travel to US and If needed in emergency back to my home country so I do not want to be under refugee protection anymore. What harm can it cause to my parents status and how can i re enter canada? (i am aware i can finish and transfer my education to UK or other country but i would try to avoid that extra burden again)
