Want to stay in Canada after expiry of permit

Here's my situation. I hope someone can help me.

I am currently on a work permit that's due to expire in a few weeks. I am being offered jobs in my field (film/game media industry) but I am still a junior and extending or getting a new work permit for me requires that I also get an LMO, which is something that the company is not ready to help with.

As a result of this, I am afraid my work permit will run out before I can get another job.

If this does not happen, I want to stay here till my apartment lease expires and other related issues (not having to look for someone to live here with my roommates, properly closing all connections to Canada like phone, internet, taxes, etc). This would be by early/mid February.

Do I need to apply to extend my stay and restore my temporary resident status as a visitor (IMM5708E)?

Thanks for helping... in advance!!!

Cheers

I'm assuming your work permit hasn't expired yet. If not, then you should apply to change your status to visitor. This will allow you to remain in Canada to take care of things without overstaying.
