Want to know the Application Status for PR

Dear All,

I am in Canada on an open work permit.
I applied for my PR through Arranged Employment (total points 85) through my lawyer.
It has been 6 months since and i am yet to recieve any file number.
I keep asking my lawyer and he says he is yet to hear back from them.
Is there any way i can understand the status of my application myself.
i am confused and i donot know whats happening.
